DaDa is on the hunt for performance pieces by Northwest based Deaf, disabled and Neurodivergent artists for our upcoming cabaret night on Friday November 24 2023 at Unity Theatre, Liverpool.
We want this night to be an explosion of emotions and ideas - think fun, uplifting, challenging, extravagant, silly, and politically charged all rolled into one dazzling event!
Unity Theatre is not just a stage, it’s a welcoming space for all. The building is wheelchair accessible, and we'll have BSL interpretation and audio description available for our audiences during the performance.
Call out details:
- We're seeking short performances that run for around 10 minutes.
- We are looking for: spoken word, dance, song, magic, music, comedy or something completely different!
- We are primarily looking for solo acts and are open to applications from duo acts.
- Each artist selected will receive a fee of £100, alongside access support and travel fees.
- To apply to perform as part of the Cabaret you can
- Email info@dadafest.co.uk with a description of your act and why you think it would make a good addition to the line-up with up to 3 images and / or a short video clip of your act.
- OR Send an audio file or video to 07725813269 (Please keep these to no more than 5 minutes) giving a taster or description of your performance along with up to 3 images and a short clip.
- Deadline for applications October 16 2023 at midday.
Your artistry deserves to shine, and we want to make it happen at Unity Theatre this November!
DaDa would like to encourage applications from artists who identify as LGBTQIA+, working class, part of the Global Majority (by this we mean African Caribbean, South Asian, Southeast Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, Arabic Diasporas, as well as Indigenous communities) or other marginalised groups. We recognise that identities can intersect, or cross over, and we welcome this.
