DaDa is committed to keeping our board fresh with creative ideas and balanced with diverse representation of our disabled community along with a robust mix of skills to steer the organisation forward.
As we celebrate our 40th anniversary year we are excited to have undergone a fresh round of recruitment to our board, and welcome immensely talented and knowledgeable members to oversee and feed into our work.
Who are the new board members?

Laurence Clarke - award-winning stand-up comedian and writer. Laurence was selected for 4Screenwriting 2021 and the BBC Writersroom Writers’ Access Group. He was one of four winners in the Triforce UKTV Writerslam (out of 1600 submissions) and consequently his comedy pilot Perfect was screened on Dave in 2022.

Erin Pritchard - senior lecturer in Disability Studies at Liverpool Hope University and a core member of the Centre for Culture and Disability Studies. Erin specialises in research on dwarfismin, in particular cultural representations of dwarfism. Erin has worked as a consultant in regard to representations of dwarfism, including for Disney.

Christine Bithell - artist and Community Engagement Development Manager with Options for Supported Living. Christine also volunteers to help run Arena Studio and Gallery in the Baltic triangle where she has studio space and takes time to be creative and support local Liverpool artists.

Barry Avison – Barry toured internationally with Sign Dance Theatre Company before becoming instrumental in setting up Deaf Theatre groups in Newcastle and Liverpool. Barry also serves as Chair of Board of BSL Celebrations and Deaf Explorer. Trained in Accountancy, Barry was Treasurer of two charities, British Deaf Association and Merseyside Society for Deaf People.

Mandy Redvers-Rowe – is returning to the board as one of DaDa’s earliest serving board members, Edinburgh TV Festival nominated writer and Access Consultant who writes for TV, radio and stage. Mandy previously worked as a Youth Theatre Director with The Liverpool Playhouse, was course tutor for Solid Foundations at LIPA, Applied Theatre Lecturer at Hope University, and Head of Participation at Collective Encounters. As a blind writer, Mandy is keen to place characters with a different lived experience at the heart of her dramas.
