DaDaFest is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with innovative, radical and pioneering Liverpool arts venue, Unity Theatre.
This partnership sees an exciting collaboration between two unique arts organisations which both champion equality for diverse audiences and artists.
First set up back in 1984, DaDaFest is one of the first disabled-led arts organisations in the UK and an integral part of the campaign for greater equality and access for disabled people.
Unity Theatre is open to everybody to be inspired and entertained. It presents work that asks questions, breaks boundaries and challenges accepted norms.
Last year, DaDaFest was funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation to apply its knowledge and expertise in disability arts to support business change and growth in the wider arts sector. One strand of this work is the development of these meaningful and collaborative partnerships.
Richard Nutter, Executive Director of DaDaFest says, “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Unity Theatre. Its core ethos of championing inclusivity and its commitment to challenging conventions in the arts sector is a perfect fit with DaDaFest. We look forward to an exciting programme of activity to come.”
Gordon Millar, Artistic Director and CEO of Unity Theatre says, “I’m delighted that the genuine commitment of DaDaFest and Unity to talent development - especially among underrepresented groups on a local level – has a platform through this excellent partnership. We look forward to the fruits of this investment in talent and the positive impact it will have on their lives and on those who encounter their artistry.”
DaDaFest and Unity will be working together to produce and co-host a series of events over the upcoming months including workshop, A Space to Talk: Wellbeing in the Arts. More information www.unitytheatreliverpool.co.uk/whats-on/dada-well-19.html
