About The Show
A collaboration between DaDa and Black Gold Arts to create an exciting new piece of street theatre to tour outdoor festivals in 2022 and beyond. The show will premier in Liverpool as part of DaDaFest International 2022.
It’s an outdoor performative strollers piece with storytelling, dancers, musical experience of walking/wheeling. A route is established by speaking to and listening with access in mind for disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent people.
Stories are told of what inspires them, moves them, provokes them, resulting in stories performed by an integrated cast of performers, created by a company of disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent writers, directors, designers and creatives put together jointly by DaDa’s joint Artistic Director and CEO, Nickie Miles-Wildin and Black Gold Arts co-Artistic Director Cheryl Martin.
Who we are looking for:
4 performers or dancers based in the North West who identify as disabled, Deaf or neurodivergent and are from the Global Majority (i.e., from the African, Caribbean, South Asian, Southeast Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern, Arabic Diasporas, as well as Indigenous communities)
2 spoken word artists based in the North West who identify as disabled, Deaf or neurodivergent and of global majority.
Playful, creative, curious performers who fit the above categories and have some experience of working on professional productions in their field of expertise.
Be interested in creating and devising a new piece of street theatre and exploring how creative access can be integrated.
