Graeae
DaDa were heartbroken to hear that the indomitable Garry Robson had died suddenly over the weekend after a short illness. Garry was an actor, director, raconteur, singer and much more.
Garry worked with and for so many incredible disability arts companies and organisations including: Graeae, Ramps to the Moon, Birds of Paradise and in 2008 and 2010 he was Artistic Director of DaDaFest International in Liverpool helping establish the festival as a key event in the Disability Arts Calendar on a worldwide scale.
Most recently, Garry was central to the Critical Friends Group, part of a new partnership between DaDa, and the Liverpool Biennial.
Garry was warm, witty and playful with devilish eyes and a cracking laugh. Very definitely a family man at heart and he will be missed by colleagues and friends from near and far.
DaDa sends our condolences to Garry’s family and those that were close to him. Yet another giant gone suddenly and too soon. ❤️
