DaDaFest International will be coming to you online this November, and we can't wait! Looking to discover more disabled artists in the meantime? Here's some recent online exhibitions from our friends, supported artists and from fellow disability arts organisations.
Care Compendium - Heart of Glass
It’s been great to see fab disabled artists featured in the ‘A Care Compendium’, a new project from Heart of Glass which asks ‘What does care look like? How do we recognise it, how do we value it?’. Check out the contribution from DaDaFest-supported artist Pierce Starre below, and find the full compendium here: https://www.heartofglass.org.uk/thoughts-and-news
Flight Paths – Extant
A brand new multimedia production inspired by the Goze – blind female performers of medieval Japan. This production from a leading company of visually impaired artists was co-commissioned by The Space, and is available in full here: https://flightpaths.extant.org.uk/
The Future is Loading - Shape Arts
Shape Arts' yearly 'Shape Open' exhibition went ahead online this year and showcased brilliant disabled visual artists across a variety of mediums, and also featured some fab Q&As: https://www.shapearts.org.uk/news/the-future-is-loading-exhibition
Minecraft Liverpool – Josh Henderson
In this video for The Bluecoat you’ll be taken on a tour of Liverpool buildings replicated using Minecraft. Impressive stuff from Josh, an artist we have long supported through our Artist Development Programme.
'Lockdown Legacy' - Thompson Hall
Action Space is a London-based visual arts organisation supporting artists with learning disabilities and they're currently hosting an online exhibition on their website. Head on over to view Thompson Hall’s ‘Lockdown Legacy’, which he has also made a video about for Autograph Gallery: https://actionspace.org/lockdown-legacy/
