Jonathan Griffith is an 81 year old self-taught artist.
Griffith has always been determined to remain independent from a very young age and then 'left home' at 33 where he rented a tiny bedsit flat with a garage. There, he got friends to help make the special furniture he designed so he could be self-sufficient.
He developed his painting skills in his spare time over many years and this talk charts his work over time as his style has evolved as he has gradually lost movement.
You can see a retrospective of Jonathan’s work at the Unity Theatre from 01 November until 08 December.
In addition to his retrospective, The Bluecoat are delighted to have one of his evocative paintings on display on the ground floor foyer during DaDaFest International.
Audio Description and BSLI is provided.
Jonathan's talk is free but booking is required.
