What do you do with DaDa?
I work as a Marketing and Social Media assistant for Dada, supporting marketing and communications. I do all things social - it's my job to celebrate all the wonderful work we do for Deaf, disabled & neurodivergent artists in Liverpool and beyond. This means I'm involved in lots of different projects that DaDa is working on as I need to share this with our creative community online.
Tell us a bit about your background?
I wear lots of different hats! I studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Leeds and began to pursue my directing career. Since graduating, I have directed a number of shows to critical acclaim here in Liverpool. I opened the Liverpool Everyman's season in 2022 with A Billion Times I Love You, a queer love story, and took work to the Edinburgh Fringe & National Student Drama Festival, to which I was awarded the Buzz Goodbody Directors award which celebrates promising emerging directors, as supported by Royal Theatrical Trust. I have received mentorship from The JMK Trust & Homotopia.
I also tour as a live music photographer, going on the road with artists signed to major record labels capturing content and helping to strategize for social media. I've shot various artwork covers, including an album cover, and have shot virtually every music festival in the country.
The marriage of all these roles helped me to arrive here with DaDa - a huge interest and love of arts and culture, a dedication to access and equality for all, with a supreme knowledge of social media and content creation.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love the sea, being near it makes me so happy. I often sail - being at sea makes me feel at my most creative. I take lots of photographs, attending lots of live music shows. I write poetry in my notes app and love modern art.
