About DaDaFest Scratch

DaDaFest Scratch is a festival of embryonic ideas developed at DaDa’s Artist Incubation Hub of DaDa Incubate and DaDa Academy by a new generation of genre-smashing disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent artists, musicians, creatives and theatre makers.

Support this incredible array of talent and be one of the first to experience the fantastic work.

Who's involved?
Through DaDaFest Scratch we showcase artists across a range of artforms who are supported by the DaDa team to develop a work in progress. They have taken place at some of Liverpool’s most iconic venues, including Unity Theatre and the Royal Philharmonic Hall. The events are open to the general public, who are encouraged to feed back to the artists following the performances.

Why do we need it?
Crucially, DaDaFest Scratch events give artists the opportunity to receive feedback from an audience and the chance to use this experience to inform and influence future work. For audiences, whether they’re new to DaDaFest or long-time followers, they provide a fantastic opportunity to enjoy our work and play a part in the artists’ journeys.

How does it work?
DaDa identifies disabled, Deaf or neurodivergent artists who will benefit from the showcasing opportunity and supports them to create a piece. We collaborate with local venues to host DaDaFest Scratch and facilitate an artist Q&A and audience feedback session to round off each event.
